One year anniversary

This is not a fun blog. On Monday April 12,2010 will be the one year anniversary of when I lost the love of my life, my best friend my everything. My husband passed away on April 12,2009. It was Easter Sunday. On April 10th my daughter came home from South Carolina with her finance and his three kids. We were planning a big Easter Egg hunt and just to have a fun weekend with family around. My husband was working on Saturday April 11th and when he got home we sat done and had a nice family dinner. We all talked and laughed it was great to have everyone here. We all went to bed because we knew we would have to get up early and head to Cincinnati to my Mom and Dad's for Easter dinner. About 1am on what would be April 12th my husband woke me up and said that he was having chest pains. I called the medics and woke my daughter finance up as he is also a paramedic. They took him to the hospital. We got the the hospital about 1:30am. The doctors gave him the Nitro pill and did the EKG and chest eray. The Dr. came in and said everything looked ok and gave my husband the choice of staying in the hospital and having a stress test done the next day or going home and having one that week. I asked the Dr are you sure he is safe to go home? She said yes. Well since she said that and said the EKG and chest xray looked ok my husband opted to go home. So at 6:30 am we were discharged from the hosp. We got home about 7:30am and went to bed for a couple hours before we had to get up and get ready to goto Cincinnati. We got up about 10:00am and my husband said he was having chest pains again. So I got him some baby aspirin and told him to lay down and I would be back in a min I had to goto the kitchen and put something in the oven. He opened the door and called for me so I went to our room. He told me to call medics again and he was sweating at this point. He said help me to the love seat. Well I did. I first called medics then helped him to the loveseat in the living room. He sat down and started to be non responsive. Medics got there and started working on him and got him into the ambulance where they rushed him to the hospital. The ER drs worked on him for 20 mins. At 11:35am my worst nightmare came true. My husband, best friend, my world was gone. This has been the worse year of my life. It is hard to believe it has been a year already. It seems like just yesterday.

Bellbrook Winter Guard

Yesterday our Bellbrook Winter Guard made history. They had a long two days of competitions that started on Thursday afternoon and ended at almost midnight on Friday night. They had Prelim competition on Thursday afternoon at the UD arena. They made it to Semi finals and did that on Friday Morning. They had to wait a long time to hear if they made it to the Finals. On Thursday there were 92 Color Guard groups from all over the world. This was actually called the WGI world finals. For the Semi Finals there were about 40 groups. Out of all the groups, there were only 15 finalist. Bellbrook finished Semi Finals in 11th place. They had their finals performance Friday night and it was amazing. They ended 10th place in the world competition. They were so excited and made Bellbrook history. This coming week on Thurs, and Friday it is the IPE ( indoor percussion ensemble) groups turn. This is the group that my son is in. It is alot of fun and I enjoy every minute of watching him perform.
